The Verdict

The verdict is in. Proving that it is rare that you are truly ambivalent about something. I knew the answer, I just didn’t like it. A total of 16 people participated in my survey (yes, I voted too!) And this is what it looked like:

With 63% saying it should go back to the way it was and only 13% liking the separate blog thing. Deep down I knew it. Instead of looking at this as a poorly planned, colossal failure on my part, I will choose to look at it as a learning curve. So from now on everything will go back to being on Good Goog. And I’ll try to put my coding hat on and see if I can’t come up with a pretty place for the photos to live.

I might have to tinker with the design a little, just to make myself feel better. Learning curve! (My new mantra)

YAY! Can’t wait to see what you do with the layout! Hmmm makes me think the same would be true for my 2 blogs?

I wouldn’t be surprised. I like the idea of two blogs in theory but the reality is that one is alot easier for the writer and alot easier for the readers. Particularly in our case where photos/organisation is not that far away from the core blog niche, if you know what I mean.

As a blogger I like the idea of having two blogs to keep certain elements seperate (ie my scrapbooking), however, as a reader I like to be able to pop in to one place to read and see everything – otherwise I find I end up missing things.
Can’t wait to see your new design :)

I like the idea of keeping things separate too – but some things work better separate than others. I have a kids/parenting book blog and I think that’s better off on its own – whereas photos/personal/mum stuff is probably best to stay together. I think if I feature the categories more prominently in the masthead that might help giving each thing its own space.

Please don’t look at it as a failure, just look at it that you’re such an awesome blogger that you care enough about your readers to listen to what they want:)

Blogs are constantly changing and being rearranged/upgraded, so there’s really no such thing as failure.

Thank you! In the end it was a good thing anyway. It was a great excuse to give Good Goog a bit of an upgrade.
