77/365 The Fairy

Yesterday was the first day that Riley insisted on what she wanted to wear. And yesterday, she wanted to be a fairy. She also wanted to wear a hat that was too small for her and she hadn’t worn since she was a baby. Most of the day was spent twirling about, while she said ‘fairy’, ‘printh-ess’.

The best part was when she found a big piece of cardboard and wrapped it around herself and declared herself to be a ‘bobot printh-ess’ (robot princess).

    Awwww she is so cute! I just love it when children start dressing themselves and taking more of an interest in what they wear. It can be a little frustrating at times – hello summer dress in the middle of winter. But it is also fabulous time of self expression :)

      She was still insisting on wearing the same outfit this morning so I managed to convince her that princesses wore tops and pants as well and we headed out to pick her out a new dress, just for variety sake”
