She's Sensitive

I say that alot. Of course she’s particularly sensitive at the moment, with a bad cough and nightmare teething. But even aside from that, she’s a sensitive creature and she probably always will be. I try not to apologise for her sensitivity, even when it’s expected that I will. Or worse, that I will actively take steps to curb her sensitive behaviour.

And sometimes I want to scream, ‘It’s not a weakness!’, ‘it’s not something to be trained out of!’. Because it’s who she is. When she was barely a year old she lost the plot at a football game, not because of the noise, but because of the aggressive tone of voice used by some of the more passionate fans.

Being somewhat of a sensitive creature myself (UNDERSTATEMENT), I may be a little biased. I don’t get that whole thing of it’s a big bad world out there and they need to have a thick skin, and the person to give them that thick skin is the person that they love and trust the most.

Oh and ‘she’s sensitive’ is not code for she’s demanding/high maintenance/clingy.

Thanks for the rant, I feel better now.
