38/365 The Purple Patch

'Camera!, Click!' Thanks Diego

I’m probably jinxing myself right now. This very second, I am probably shooting myself in the foot. Because I haven’t seen any trace of the ‘terrible twos’ in awhile. Home life has been great fun. There are always going to be tantrums and defiance – it’s the nature of having an independent spirit. But they’ve been few and far between lately.

So for now, I’m enjoying this period. Which is joyful, playful and yes, even easy. Now I’ll sit back and wait for the parenting gods to strike me down.

ah I feel the same way when I quietly whisper that this baby sleeps… a lot… LOL

A friend recently had a baby and three months later he is still an excellent sleeper. But she’s always waiting for the other shoe to drop ;-)

Both of my kids slept so well from birth on (4 hour blocks straight away as a newborn). I kept waiting for this to all of a sudden stop. We had nights where the boys were sick that they didn’t sleep wonderfully, but other than that they have always been great sleepers. I’m so fortunate!

Elias is almost 3 and the “terrible twos” were more like days where he was SO mischievous. Like yesterday – he got into EVERYTHING he wasn’t supposed to from the moment he woke up until he went to bed! Not every day is like that though and overall, he’s a great kid who follows direction well.

*lol we all have days like that! In the meantime I’m becoming an expert at negotiation.
