52/365 Mum!

by Zoey @ Good Googs on July 27, 2010

I don’t know when it happened but sometime a few days ago ‘mummy’ was gone and was promptly replaced by ‘mum’. I’m not sure how I feel about this forging ahead into little kid-dom. But I think it’s fair to say I’m not a fan. Not even a little bit. I was initially reluctant to be called ‘mummy’ just because I always called my mum by her first name. But now I’m actually quite attached to it. And this mum business? Just doesn’t cut the mustard.

Aww. Maybe it won’t be gone forever. I get a mixture of the two :) Heres hoping she mixes it up too – so you get both mum & mummy!

I’d be ok with that! It just seemed way too sudden for me ;-)

My 6 year old calls me Momma. I just love it. I think Mum is cute, too. Still waiting for baby to call me Ma Ma.

      That is just gorgeous!

Or she could be like my IL’s and call you mummy forever, even when they’re in their late 20′s and it’s kinda sorta creepy, hehehehe :-)

I know what you mean about feeling weird about it at first and then loving it. Alexa still just musters up a MAMA but she can call me whatever she likes, her tiny little voice makes my heart melt. I toyed with the idea of being called Amber, because I was still pretty weirded out by being someone’s mother. I guess I’ve gotten over that though, since I’m cool with the title now :-)

*LOL* Yes being called mummy forever would be very creepy! It’s funny, she can say Zoey, but never calls me that. Which is pretty cute.

You need to record that for us like you did when she said Josh!

Lilly is two and a half and went through a phase a few weeks ago of calling me “mum” and my husband “dad”. I wasn’t sure I was ready for it either… but she seems to have reverted to mummy and daddy for now, phew!

Oh good! It might not be permanent – that’s what I’m hoping for.
