I don’t wear much makeup. Mainly because I lack the requisite skill or patience or both. See? This is a picture of me wearing make up. It’s hard to tell the difference between this and no makeup really.
I would love to know what I was doing. I’d also love to do it quickly. Which is why I’m looking at getting my hands on Amazing Face, because if Zoe Foster can’t help me then no one can. And this two minute makeup routine? Love. Because if anyone can help me other than Zoe Foster it’s Nikki, who alerted me to the existence of Zoe Foster’s book in the first place.
And once I’ve got that down, a good makeup remover will come in handy.

This is what it looks like, trapped in my late 70s-esque bathroom, which is really just that little bit too small to achieve anything of note either in the hair or makeup department.

It certainly smelt nice. Is it weird that I smelt it? Quite possibly. Three pumps and you get a fine foam:

Wow. My hand looks old. Moving on. The foam is silky and feels all tingly on the skin. Not in that ‘dear god, get it off my skin’ kind of way, in that ‘I’m pleasantly tingly, going about my business’ kind of way.

Hmm. Scary snow beast. Best wash it off.

Skin left feeling clean but not dry.
I’ve always been somewhat ambivalent about makeup. On the one hand, when it’s done by someone who knows what they’re doing it looks amazing and I’ve always wanted to be one of those people. On the other hand, it bothers me that people tend to tell me I look tired or sick just because I’m not wearing makeup. Or that I’m sending a message to my daughters about beauty that I’m not overly comfortable with. Oh yes, if someone can overthink it, I can.
Do you wear makeup every day? What’s your routine? And what’s your best tip for someone as clueless as myself? Every gorgeous commenter goes into the draw for a chance to win a $25 Coles Voucher.
