Beauty and Gobbledygook

by Zoey @ Good Googs on April 17, 2010

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I get that. Sort of. And this beholder, thinks she is all kinds of beautiful.

Confession. Toddlers always kind of freaked me out. I never knew what they were saying, for one. I secretly dreaded the toddler stage. Tantrums, demands, brattish behaviour, deciphering some morphed language between English and Gobbledygook.

Luckily, it’s different when it’s your brat speaking in gobbledygook.

I love toddlers, I’ve loved all the stages so far but I think young toddlers are my favourite, because they are doing it all for the first time and there is such joy and discovery every day.

And the gobbledygook – my eldest had dyspraxia and actually made up her own language. It was scary, but there was always a logic in it. One time she had insect bites and called them ‘ti-car-balls’ because her brother Tim had a red car, so red was ‘ti-car’ and obviously the insect bites were big round red things. While I’m really glad she now speaks English, it’s quite sad too.
